Overview:

Would you like to understand what people mean when they refer to a job in data science? Do you want to pursue a data science career, but not sure where to learn the skills needed to get your foot in the door? If so, then join us for Data Science month! Our first event will highlight careers in Data Science and the Insight Data Science Fellows program as an entry point to this career. Come to learn about Data Science and to network!

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

  1. Name the variety of careers in the data science work sector
  2. Name the entry points into a career working in data science
  3. Develop a strategy for positioning yourself for your next step, whether as a career explorer or someone ready to apply for data science positions
  4. Identify resources you can utilize to gain the skills needs for data science careers
