P1 Preparing for Professional Conversations Class

Audience:

Ready to speak up for your professional goals confidently and strategically? This interactive session is designed to help first year School of Pharmacy students develop practical strategies for navigating self-advocacy conversations in professional settings.

Students will learn how to prepare for and initiate conversations that align with their professional goals, communicate their needs effectively, and respond with flexibility and professionalism when challenges arise. They will also explore how to assess potential risks and determine when and how to pursue a professional conversation.

By the end of this class, students will be able to:

- Prepare for self-advocacy conversations in alignment with their professional goals.

- Confidently initiate professional conversations and effectively make an ask.

- Navigate self-advocacy conversations with flexibility, alignment, and respect, including responding professionally when someone says “no.”

- Assess potential risks to determine whether and how to pursue professional conversations.
